On-Farm IoT Grants
08/07/2019
The Victoria Government’s On-Farm Internet of Things (IoT) trial is now open!
100 Victorian agricultural businesses are to be selected for the first round of the Connecting Victoria On-Farm Internet of Things initiative. The Trials will assist in the modernisation of farm management technologies, leading to increased efficiency, productivity, and security.
On offer
Matched Grants of up to $30,000 are available to eligible Victorian farms to purchase and install a suite of IoT devices to improve farm management and productivity. To be eligible, farms must be able to meet the co-funding requirement ($1 for every $2 of Government finance).
Application process
Expressions of Interest (EOI) can be submitted on-line at any time prior to the closing date. Upon completion of the EOI, eligible applicants will be invited to apply for funding, and submit an IoT plan document, produced with support from a government-appointed Industry Technology Coordinator.
Applications will be judged on the current level of connectivity of their farm, willingness to engage in future research and data collection, and ability to meet the co-funding requirement.
Expressions of Interest close at 11.59pm, August 2, 2019.
Applicants will be advised of the outcome within six weeks of submission.
Who can apply?
Eligible farm businesses located within one of four key agricultural centres in regional Victoria, engaged in the following selected activities:
- Dairy cattle farms in the Maffra region
- Horticulture farms in the Tatura region
- Broadacre cropping farms in the Birchip region
- Sheep farms in the Serpentine region
Farms at various levels of digitisation and computational literacy will be accepted.
