Nick Michael, Partner

I am a Senior Partner in the Assurance Division and am responsible for overseeing the audits of several listed and unlisted public companies and large private groups.

I have a particular focus on property and construction and serve as Audit Partner for several of our major clients in this sector. I also work with clients across the manufacturing, exploration, and private business sectors.

Over the past 25 years, I have developed broad experience across audit, transaction advisory, and other advisory services. In addition to my extensive experience in financial and compliance audits, I have been involved in investigating accountant’s reports, financial model reviews, and financial due diligence engagements.

I spent two years as Group Financial Controller of ConnectEast during the capital-raising and construction phase of Melbourne’s outer eastern toll road. This experience gave me a greater appreciation of the client’s perspective and what is required from a professional services relationship.

My experience includes:

• supporting a successful public capital raising of $25m
• leading a fraud review of management expenditure for a large private company
• advising the Board of a large private company on a best-practice corporate governance framework
• conducting a pre-lending review for a bank
• reporting to a minority shareholder on the financial viability of an ongoing private business.
