My career spans more than 40 years across senior leadership roles in financial services, including a decade spent living and working in Asia.
I spent five years as General Director and Country Head for the Commonwealth Bank in Vietnam, where I led the team responsible for licensing and operationalising the bank in the country. I subsequently joined National Australia Bank as General Manager and Country Head, China Banking, where I spent more than five years leading the team that licensed and operationalised NAB in mainland China.
During my time in Vietnam and China, I served as a Director on the Boards of the respective Australian Chambers of Commerce. In China, I also served as Treasurer and Deputy Chair of the Shanghai Chamber, and chaired the Chamber’s Financial Services Industry Committee. My sector expertise lies in financial services, agribusiness, and food, while my lived experience in Asia enables me to provide valuable insights to clients seeking to trade and invest across borders.
Upon returning to Australia, I served as General Manager International at Oliver Hume Property Funds before joining SW, where I was Managing Director from October 2017 to December 2021.
I currently work predominantly with the firm’s foreign banking clients, as well as exporters and businesses seeking to operate in Asia. I also support foreign companies operating in Australia through formal governance roles as a Resident Director and Resident Public Officer, working closely with international businesses that are establishing or expanding their presence in Australia.
